High performance filters technical information
<0,5 microns high performance filtration
Microfiltration of water without cartridges
Cristalit high performance media filters are a new evolution of sand filtration technologies and flint and anthracite multimedia filters.
These filtration systems are specially designed to take a step forward in filtration capacity and capture suspended solids, turbidity and organic matter from water.
IMA water filters with Cristolit filter bed have a filtration capacity of up to 0.5 microns which makes them specially designed for high performance water treatment processes such as:
- Safety pre-filtration treatment for reverse osmosis plants reducing the cost of chemicals and anti-fouling.
- Up to 100% reduction of SDI and suspended solids with respect to conventional water filtration equipment such as zeolite and glass.
- Fine filtration treatment in water treatment plants to ensure the removal of turbidity and organic matter from well and river water.
- Microfiltration treatment for reuse of grey water for irrigation.
Cristolid water filters operation
The high performance IMA water filters can work at high average filtration velocities between 10 -15 m/h, reaching values up to 0.5 micron filtration degree.
The filter media present in these industrial filters has a useful life of more than 10 years, not requiring replacement in the short term and representing a significant saving compared to other cartridge microfiltration media.
For the application of industrial filters with cristalit it is recommended to keep in mind the type of water to be treated, having two working models:
- Waters loaded with high solids content and wastewater: a filtration pretreatment up to 5-10 microns should be performed before the final filtration step to 0.5 microns.
- Standard well and mains water: This model of filters can be used directly, having a range of filtration and water quality far superior to conventional models.
For the control of operation, attention should be paid to the pressure gauges at the inlet and outlet of the filtration system and backwashing should be performed when the pressure difference exceeds 0.7 bar.
Fields of application of high performance filters IMA water
Due to the filtration degree and characteristics of the filter media, this model of water treatment equipment can be used in numerous applications to improve existing technologies.
- Pre-treatment for reverse osmosis plants: Thanks to its high filtration range, the need to change reverse osmosis cartridge filters can be reduced by up to 200%, also reducing the use of anti-scaling chemicals.
- Post treatment in greywater and wastewater reuse plants: IMA water high performance filters can be installed as a final refining treatment for the adaptation of wastewater for irrigation and cleaning, providing a final treated water free of solids and turbidity.
- Water treatment equipment for wells, rivers and lakes: These filtration equipments improve existing drinking water treatment technologies, guaranteeing a water treatment free of solids, turbidity and suspended organic compounds. Providing filtered water of the highest quality through filtration systems with low maintenance and no spare parts.
